Description:
The incumbent is assigned to the Cropping Systems and Water Quality Research Unit, located on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, Missouri. The incumbent will conduct crosscutting research in Bayesian hierarchical spatial modeling and machine learning to improve estimation and prediction of soil carbon and other soil health indicators at the continental scale.**ANNOUNCEMENT IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED OR JUNE 4, 2024**
Requirements:
This position requires a Ph.D in statistics/mathematics or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Preferred interests and experience include hierarchical spatial modeling, machine learning, Bayesian methodology and computation, dimension reduction and analysis of high-dimensional datasets, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with large datasets for applied science outcomes is preferred.
