Description:
This position is located in the Clerk's Office of the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Columbia. The Records/Inventory Clerk reports to the Records Specialist.Requirements:
Required Specialized Experience:The candidate must also possess a minimum of two years of specialized experience. Specialized experience includes progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures that demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involved the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment for word processing (Microsoft Word), data entry or report generation, various applications to create detailed inventories of boxes and scanned records, computer programming skills, and knowledge of using scanning software.
Preferred Experience:
Legal/court experience is highly preferred, but not required.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff to determine needs and maintain complete and accurate records and files. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is critical.
Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; the ability to respond to requests on short notice; and the ability to manage multiple tasks and stringent deadlines are essential. The ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment, work independently, and be detail-oriented is a must.
Regular lifting of heavy boxes (20 to 40 pounds) is required.
