About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the Army Reserve Aviation Command, Aviation Support Facility Conroe West located in Conroe, Texas

POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be 31 OCT 2023 at 11:59 PM. Application packages received after this date will be evaluated at a future cutoff date to be determined based on the needs of the agency. Application packages must be complete at the time referral certificates are issued. This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for DoD Maintenance Activities.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: maintaining and repairing aircraft pneudraulic systems to include changing hydraulic pumps, repairing and replacing valves and actuating cylinders, replacing gaskets, seals, pistons, and bearings. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in varying weather conditions. Exposed to high frequency and high intensity noises. Dirt, dust, grease, and fumes are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible.
