The VASTLMC is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologist that uses ionizing radiation and other modalities to treat malignant and some benign diseases. Qualified applicants should have or will graduate from an LCME-accredited residency program and be ABR board-eligible or board certified. This position will have access to research opportunities within the VA and may assist with clinical trial development and may also be eligible for faculty appointments with the VASTLMC academic affiliates.Requirements:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/04/2024.Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. Physical Requirements: The Physical requirements of this position include the following tasks which may be performed intermittently: lifting of up to 10 lbs., sitting (4 hours), standing (2 hours), walking (2 hours), bending/stooping (1 hour), twisting (1/2 hour), simple grasping (4 hours), fine manipulation (6 hours), reaching above the shoulder (1/2 hour), and operating machinery (1/2 hour).
Work Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday with Rotating Tours, Rotating Days, and On-Call.
Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a Base-Line Salary ($3500,000-$400,000) range estimate for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate depending upon location), as well as FT, PT or Intermittent employment.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
