THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1902000 and is part of the IL USPFO, National Guard.
Requirements:
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades: Enlisted - May not exceed the rank of SSG.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience or training which demonstrates the ability to distinguish between closely related or similar items, ability to follow procedures, ability to sort materials by type, and skill in the use of hand tools.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : WG-07 Level - MUST possess the experience or training which includes 12 months identifying and sorting a variety of complex materials and equipment; experience receiving materials and equipment, recording, and placing items in proper storage areas; experience preparing all items for shipment using appropriate agency instructions; experience in mathematical equations; experience interpreting and using Federal Supply Catalogs, military and manufacturing catalogs, and technical and agency manuals; experience using and operating forklifts and motor vehicles.
In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
