Description:

This position is located in the Department of Defense, Office of the Inspector General (DoD OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Evaluations (DIG-EVAL), Criminal Investigative Policy and Oversight (CIPO) Division.

Requirements:

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service.

Specialized Experience: One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade level of GS-12. Specialized experience is defined as: Extensive experience in researching, planning, directing, managing, and conducting general criminal investigations and program evaluations; and coordinating investigative matters with other Federal, state, local and foreign law enforcement and security agencies. Has thorough knowledge of criminal, civil, administrative, and contract law including the Uniform Code of Military Justice; investigative techniques; rules of evidence; laws and regulations. Skill in program analyses and methodology, problem solving and independent judgement. Skill in written and oral communication to prepare comprehensive, professional, accurate investigative and evaluation reports and brief evaluation report findings and recommendations to leadership.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants who have held a non-temporary General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the time-in-grade restriction.
