The CDC utilizes Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. Minimum Qualifications:MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. GS-11: 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree GS-12: In addition to the GS-11 requirements, must have at least 1 year of professional pharmacy experience: Qualifications must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, & competencies necessary to perform the work of the position. Pharmacy work requires knowledge of the use, clinical effects, & composition of medications, including their chemical, biological, & physical properties. GS-13 & ABOVE: EDUCATION: Doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained LICENSURE: Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory EXPERIENCE: 1 year of professional pharmacy experience as defined above equivalent to the next lower grade level
