You will serve as an Electrician within NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the tasks of an Electrician: Having knowledge of a variety of equipment, material, electrical circuits and controls and be able to work these together into a complete system; Able to plan, layout and complete installations or modify and repair various electrical circuits, control and equipment with the use of blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams and sketches; Familiar with the National Electric Code and able to use formulas basic to the trade to arrive at proper voltages, resistance and amperage, or to determine adequate size of wire, conduit, raceways, circuit breakers, and overload protection to insure proper and safe operation of electrical systems; and Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and a wide variety of test equipment used in the electrical trade.
