THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a PROGRAM MANAGER (WING COMMANDER) TITLE 32, Position Description Number D290000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.
Requirements:
Military Grades: Officer Only O-6 / Col.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience, education, or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations; supervisory, managerial, professional, or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques; experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-15 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level GS-14, of at least one year, analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources; must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures; experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE : MUST possess the experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
