Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Fuel Distribution System Worker (Public Notice Flyer) without more than normal supervision. Operate large vehicles or heavy equipment (gross vehicle weight rating greater than 26,000 pounds) used for transporting materials/supplies/equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance checks and perform operator maintenance on vehicles/equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Exerts light to moderate physical effort, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, working in cramped conditions and climbing on tankers. May be subject to high levels of noise from various aircraft. Performs work outside in all kinds of weather. Follows safety regulations and uses safety equipment and precautions to avoid injury from fumes, flames and explosions or to avoid slipping or falling from tankers. Subject to uncommon tours of duty (e.g., weekends, and after hours).
