Description:

About the Position: responsible for planning, execution/coordination and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs and practices), training, education, and outreach for sexual harassment and sexual assault. Directly supports the senior commander and supports the coordination and implementation of comprehensive primary prevention activities that address individual, interpersonal, organizational and community factors that contribute to sexual harassment and sexual assault.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Coordinate activities among the community to promote prevention of sexual harassment and assault; conduct risk assessments to identify the need for specific types of preventative training required at various locations throughout the organization(s); and provide recommendations regarding administrative and operational aspects to enhance readiness across numerous organizations concerning the prevention of sexual harassment and assault.


This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
