This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves as a principal advisor to the Joint Individual Augmentation (JIA) Branch Chief regarding all joint individual augmentation sourcing matters.Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Interpreting, analyzing and evaluating issues associated with personnel employment and readiness in global operations, and recommending resolutions through vetted courses of action;
- Interpreting Individual Augmentation (IA) programs, policies, responsibilities, scope, and applicability to personnel generation to fill global manpower requirements;
- Operating currently approved joint, Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps manpower, personnel and/or logistics systems to assess, monitor and track sourcing solutions to meet or exceed the approved minimum sourcing percentage approved by the Secretary of Defense;
- Analyzing Global Force Management Implementation Guidance (GFMIG), Global Force Management Allocation Policies and Procedures (CJCSM 3130.06 series), Joint Individual Augmentation Procedures (CJCSI 1301.01series), and applicable Department of Defense (DoD) policies with the ability to understand, interpret and articulate manpower and personnel readiness issues balanced against globally unfunded requirements to obtain a senior executive-level decision;
- Designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis of joint manning documents, processes, and automated systems to provide recommendations with milestones and goals to reduce unprogrammed costs, manual inputs, and competing reviews, on work center, Force Provider (FPs) and Combatant Commands (CCMDs). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
