THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) TITLE 5, Position Description Number T5234000 and is part of the IL DCSIM, National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position, your resume must reflect sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position for which you are applying. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your work experience.Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-13 Level - MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation. Specialized experience includes experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-12 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.

EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE: Applicants may also qualify on the basis of education as follows: Must have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a degree with a major study in one of the following areas: computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field. (Note: You must attach a copy of official transcripts.)
