This position is located in with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Operations, Assistant Commandant for Intelligence, Office of Intelligence Plans and Policy (CG-25), Intelligence Plans Policy and Exercise Division (CG-255), New Orleans, LA.

Requirements:

At a GS-12 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes the following:

  • Conducting human intelligence or law enforcement intelligence operations;
  • Conducting intergovernmental operations and liaison activities;
  • Writing intelligence collection reports and analysis;
  • Researching and analyzing intelligence topics;
  • Briefing intelligence topics in a public setting;
  • Semi-autonomous work as an intelligence officer, law enforcement investigator, or special agent.

    National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
