THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.This ND National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1276PND and is part of the ND J2, National Guard.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All Series GS-0080 personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. You must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level, as cited on page two. You must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. You must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and industrial security assignments, advising operating officials, and developing guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls; experience conducting reviews, collecting and analyzing information, ect. and skill in weighing the impact of variables that influence the course of action taken in resolving security questions and issues.
OR
EDUCATION:
master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
An equivalent combination of work experience and education.
