Description:

The positions are located within the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) & Maritime Administration (MARAD) U.S. Depart of Transportation, in Kings Point, NY. The USMMA is a federal service academy that educates and graduates leaders of exemplary character who are committed to serve the national security, marine transportation, and economic needs of the United States as licensed Merchant Marine Officers and commissioned officers in the Armed Forces.

Requirements:

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.

To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:

Experience in planning and managing in the analysis and formulation of broad program, technical, and administrative policies and procedures needed for strategic planning, executing, and deploying various IT products and services and experience in the development of strategic, long-range, and tactical plans to optimize cybersecurity solutions to protect data and IT infrastructure to anticipate in a manner that anticipates, identifies, evaluates, mitigates, and minimizes the risks associated with IT network, system, application, and other resource vulnerabilities. Experience in preparing internal and external reports that may include providing audit liaison support to IT operations and other agency elements. Experience in providing oversight and leadership of IT projects that enable program offices to successfully perform business functions and mission objectives. Experience in providing oversight working with system owners to ensure that security assessments and authorizations and continuous monitoring activities are performed in a timely manner and consistent with Federal Requirements

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
