Description:
This position is in the Defender Services Branch of the Budget and Finance Division of the District of Columbia Courts. The Branch Chief, Defender Services Programs Branch, is responsible for the timely and accurate review and payment of claims for services under the Counsel for Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) program, the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) program, and the Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Program.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualification:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, plus six (6) years of experience planning, developing and implementing program policies and procedures for payment of claims for services and applying professional accounting principles in a public sector, legal or government setting. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory level experience is required.
Graduation from the Courts’ Management Training Program may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience (You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application
Education Substitution:
A Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, plus five (5) years of experience planning, developing and implementing program policies and procedures for payment of claims for services and applying professional accounting principles in a public sector, legal or government setting. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory level experience is required.
