Requirements:

No assumptions will be made about your experience.For GS-13: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level. Examples of specialized experience may include Human resources experience as a team leader, supervisor, or senior specialist serving as a technical authority. Providing advice and guidance on a wide range of complex or controversial personnel actions and issues. Improving organizational structures and workforce plans. Interpreting a wide range of personnel laws, rules, and regulations to develop and implement federal human resources policies, programs, or initiatives. Leading others in the development and provision of personnel products, training, programs, and initiatives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
