Description:

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for technical analysis and integration of information to advise the leadership of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of all things that support Defense Cyber Operations and cybersecurity issues, policies and capabilities.

Requirements:

You may qualify at the GG 15 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 14 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
  • Mastery knowledge to identify gaps in the Defense Cyber Operations realm and make recommendations for closing the gaps across multiple IT and specific cyber programs as they relate to the security and stability of the global information and communications infrastructure;
  • Mastery in knowledge and skill to develop plans, provide guidance, revise and edit Joint Publications, Department of Defense Cyber Strategy, Cybersecurity policy and Defense Infrastructure to meet mission needs;
  • Skill in applying cyber risk management framework and process to include methods of assessing and mitigating risk;
  • Subject matter expert of the missions of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Department of Defense, and other Federal organizational components in order to understand cyber operations requirements;
  • Coordinating assignments and executing fiscal and manpower resources. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below:

    • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
