Description:

The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety (AVS). Incumbent serves as an Engineering Research Psychologist within the FAA, Aviation Safety, Office of Aviation Medicine in the Aerospace Human Factors Research Division.

Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Degree: Successful completion of a full 4 year course of study from an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree with a major or equivalent in Psychology.

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS 13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS 10-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: Experience in designing and executing research plans, analyzing data using advanced statistical techniques or modeling, leading a research team, and communicating scientific information; and experienced in designing and conducting studies, preparing reports, and making presentations on research projects related to measuring the efficiency of individuals, teams, or work.

QUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): Well qualified candidates will have skill in developing and conducting research studies, preparing reports, and delivering presentations on research projects specifically related to aviation or air traffic control human factors.
