About the Position: Serves as Facility Operations Specialist for the USASOC - Special Operations Training Detachment (SOTD) (stationed at Ft. Polk, LA) responsible for managing the allocation of space, offices, equipment, and coordinating various activities and tenants. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 3 years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position may be made permanent without further competition (see Additional Information).Requirements:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) gathering information on acquisition, assignment, termination, and utilization on organizational facilities; 2) developing plans, programs, and budgets for minor and major construction, maintenance and repair of facilities, and contractor oversight; 3) managing a maintenance program for an office or other special-purpose installations such as planning maintenance activities or developing preventive maintenance programs; 4) conducting surveillance activities over construction or maintenance operations; And 5) performing maintenance or construction work, such as estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
