Supervisory Program Specialist

This position is located in Pacific Northwest Region, Region 6, at the Supervisor's Office of the Umpqua National Forest in Roseburg, Oregon.

This position serves as the Community Engagement & Business Operations Staff Officer to the Forest Supervisor providing strategic guidance and leadership of Community Engagement, Tribal Relations and Administrative Services.

Specialized Experience Requirement:

For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting two or more of the following: Worked as a senior specialist that requires knowledge and skill in performing staff analytical, planning, and evaluative assignments concerned with the administrative and operational aspects of organizations, programs, services and management. Provided advice and guidance in one or more functional areas such as office management, human resources, budget and finance, contracting, purchasing, workforce management, etc. Participated in the unit's strategic planning process and development of long-range plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
