Responsibilities


  • Responsible for addressing Facilities needs, including building and lab repairs, lab equipment setup, preventative maintenance schedules, and process improvements.
  • Serve as point of contact for Facilities quality, safety, compliance, and performance.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of business continuity plans and infrastructure management programs.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of boilers, water heaters, compressors, fume hoods, and pressure vessels in accordance with CA state law.
  • Oversee and coordinate emergency power generator maintenance, monitoring, and testing.
  • Oversee and coordinate HVAC PM’s and repairs.
  • Oversee service agreements for building maintenance.
  • Oversee Day Porter and Janitorial services.
  • Assist with lifting/moving boxes or equipment.
  • Perform daily and/or monthly inspections of equipment & facility, roof, fire system, chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers.
  • Apply engineering practices, knowledge, and skills to perform a wide variety of standard and nonstandard activities.
  • Monitor, update, maintain security access system and building management system.
  • Respond to alarms from BMS, fire/life safety, or burglar alarm.
  • Utilizes Building Automated Control system to control and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Performs light carpentry, furniture assembly and all other maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist day porter and administrative staff with conference room configurations and furniture/office moves.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and seek additional assistance as needed.
  • Work with outside vendors on scheduled maintenance on various building systems
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance of building.
  • Apply excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in project team situations, as well as work independently.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field. Will consider 5+ years’ experience, with proven leadership abilities, in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years with specific experience in utilities, lab, and facilities systems.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering role with progressively increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operation of building automation systems, HVAC, and fire life safety systems.
  • Familiarity with computers and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk stairs, lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Knowledge of operation of building auxiliary systems fire-life safety, stand by emergency generators.
  • Attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage deadlines and goals, and work independently.
  • Experience in Environmental Health & Safety a plus.
  • Experience with SOX compliance for Shipping & Receiving a plus.

This position is located in South San Francisco, CA. At this time we are not considering remote applicants

The salary range for this position is $97,500 USD to $120,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
