Requirements:
To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Electrician Leader.Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element #73 - Ability to Lead or Supervise as an Electrician Leader to be considered for this position. Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of an Electrician Leader.
Examples of these duties include:
1) Serving as the first-line leader that ensure employees follow work instructions and safety protocol in accordance with Directives, policy, and guidance.
2) Coordinating repair efforts with other leaders to maintain shift to shift continuity.
3) Tracking material costs and reports costs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System. and
4) Maintenance and repair of the electrical systems used in the manufacturing process.
In addition to the requirements above, GPO employees competing under merit promotion procedures must meet all of the following criteria in accordance with Federal Merit Promotion Plan, GPO Instruction 615.2C (Appendix B): 1. Have completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacancy; AND 2. Have at least 1 year of journeyperson experience subsequent to completion of the above apprenticeship or training; AND 3. Have served a minimum of 1 year in Career or Career-Conditional appointment in the GPO.(add supervisory statement from MP Plan). 4. Have served at least 1 year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
