The Program Analyst, GS-0343-11/12 is located in Directorate for STEM Education (EDU), Division of Graduate Education (DGE). The primary purpose of the position is responsible for a wide spectrum of duties in support of the Division's mission including program support for reports, analyses and presentations regarding the research portfolio of the Division to aid in portfolio assessment and inform decisions made by Division management regarding its activities.Requirements:
To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 Level in the Federal Service performing complex analysis in support of program operations. Examples of specialized experience for this position are: analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of business operations and programmatic processes using qualitative and quantitative techniques; choosing, interpreting, or adapting guidelines for application to specific issues or subjects studied; planning and carrying out projects to improve administrative support efficiency/productivity; gathering data and analyzing/evaluating/interpreting trends to enhance work performance; completing reports and making recommendations to managers related to internal administrative operations;OR possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree,
OR possess 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree,
OR possess a combination of post-high school education and experience that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
To qualify at the GS-12 level, candidates need to have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service performing and overseeing complex analyses . Examples of this experience include planning, scheduling, budgeting, and conducting projects and studies to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; establishing criteria to measure and/or predict the attainment of program or organizational goals and objectives; making sound recommendations on financial and budget matters while also providing or obtaining a variety of budget or financial services.
Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
