Description:
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent provides analysis and oversight of a broad range of complex, sensitive, and high profile security staff operations in J-7. Directs and manages security for CJCS directed exercises, wargames, special projects, and events, specific to Special Access Programs (SAP), Compartmented Access Programs (CAP), and Collateral/SCI, related to J-7 function.Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Leading a Unit Security Program;
- Developing, interpreting, emplacing, and implementing security objectives, plans procedures and operations in a Special Access Programs (SAP), Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS-SCI) environment;
- Appointed to and successfully performing duties of unit Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO), unit SAP Personnel Security Official (SPO), unit Special Security Representative (SSR), and unit Media Control Officer (MCO);
- Developing, adapting, and coordinating new approaches supporting development and use of collaborative and/or multi-partner, international, and multi-portfolio collaborative Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information/Special Access Programs/Compartmented Access Programs (TS/SCI/SAP/CAP) security programs;
- Applying new theories and developments to address unprecedented security challenges not readily susceptible to treatment by accepted/published security methods, technology, or procedures and satisfactorily reconciling new approaches will stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
