The Program Support Assistant provides a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of the Administrative Officer, Mental Health Service. (should read in support of the Lower State Mental Health Section Chief)Requirements:
To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, applicants must meet the following:Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Program Support Assistant position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: providing administrative and technical support for the management of various programs; maintaining databases and utilizing various software programs; scheduling appointments and typing a variety of correspondence. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is sedentary. Typically, the person in this position may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items like papers or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
