About the Position: This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The surrounding community is comprised of the towns of Leesville, DeRidder, New Llano, & Anacoco. The nearest cities are Alexandria & Lake Charles. The area is considered rural with the Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities, located nearby. Also located nearby are Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake & Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, swimming, etc

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Fabric Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common repairs to personnel cargo and extraction parachutes. I can operate hand tools and shop equipment. Relaying on to others daily work instructions received from supervisor, ensuring proper distribution of workload. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to lead or supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Measurement and Layout Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires standing or sitting positions and requires reaching, bending, stooping, overhead arm movement,and continuous use of arms, hands and fingers in pulling and positioning materials. Lifting of items generally not exceeding 75pounds is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside shop area that is adequately lighted and heated. Employee is exposed to noise of machines and is subject to physical injury when using sewing machines, electrically operated cutters, hot wax pot, and hot searing device. Is subject to cuts, bruises, punctures, scratches and other minor injuries from sharp tools and materials. Is exposed to dust and lint from fabrics and fumes from glues, preservatives and cleaners. Such hazards and working conditions are considered normal and have been built into the grading standards of the occupation.
