One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05/06) within the federal service which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.GS-06 Specialized experience is defined as: At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 level if outside the federal service applying knowledge of accounting systems, policies and procedures for the examination, verification and maintenance of accounts and accounting data; validating, monitoring and maintaining accounting transactions and accounting records; researching discrepancies and making adjustments.
GS-06 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-6, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-5 or higher in the Federal service.
GS-07 Specialized experience as a is defined as: At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the federal service or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-06 level if outside the federal service examining and maintaining accounts or financial ledgers; posting financial transactions; verifying entitlement documents; generating problem resolutions; preparing financial reports; reconciling accounts; and working with a variety of accounting and automated financial systems.
GS-07 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-7, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-6 or higher in the Federal service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
The Security Designation for this position requires at a minimum a top secret security clearance. Employment in this position requires an extensive background investigation which may delay your starting date.
