These positions are located in Grand Canyon National Park, in the Facility Management Division.

A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
  1. The Ability to Lead or Supervise as a Maintenance Worker (Leader) (SCREEN OUT)
  2. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
  3. Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
  4. Use of Measuring Instruments
  5. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
  6. Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  7. Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. To be found minimum qualified, your resume must show the following: I am able to lead small work crews in executing some of the tasks listed above, including instructing crew members on the operation of equipment, trail maintenance, as well as safety policies and procedures.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
