In this position as a Strategic Account Executive – Embedded Payroll , you will be part of ADP’s Small Business Services (SBS) business unit to support the growth of our newest product, ADP Embedded Payroll . SBS supports 800,000+ small business customers with a variety of industry leading products and services. ADP Embedded Payroll is an internal start up operating within SBS, that was launched to help expand ADP’s market share by delivering ADP’s cutting-edge payroll technology and market leading service, to SaaS providers that want to launch their own payroll business.

The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for delivering step function growth for ADP Embedded Payroll by engaging decision makers within leading technology companies to pitch ADP’s Embedded Payroll value proposition and guide them through the complex business/technical decision-making process. You will own the full partner acquisition lifecycle including identification, development, negotiation, contract execution, technical enablement, business planning and growth. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about enterprise sales, strategic business development, and the use of technology to serve small businesses. The successful candidate will be creative in sourcing and evaluating opportunities, strategic in their prioritization and laser focused on driving measurable growth for the business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Responsibilities

  • Uncover and qualify high-potential leads within tech companies across diverse set of industries.
  • Develop compelling value propositions tailored to each partner’s specific needs, while educating them on ADP’s embedded payroll solution through presentations and demos
  • Navigate complex decision-making processes within large organizations, building strong relationships with key C-Suite executives.
  • Manage and nurture a category of accounts from prospect to close
  • Evaluate and assess the strategic and economic impact of potential opportunities with prospective partners
  • Lead all aspects of deal execution from: identifying and developing accounts, meeting with partners, business case development, to deal structuring, negotiating contracts, and closing
  • Deeply understand complex payroll integrations and challenges faced by partners, demonstrating technical acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Communicate and report to leadership the forecast of future deals, business impact, communicate strategy and resolve prospect questions and issues during the deal process
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assist in explaining the vision of embedded payroll to prospects

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise sales and strategic partnerships in a highly competitive industry
  • Experience in Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Corporate Development and/or Alliance Development is a plus
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas
  • Strong content creation and business storytelling / presentation skills (PowerPoint)
  • Prior experience in identifying and developing relationships with key decision makers
  • Ability to translate technical complexities into business value for partners
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, coupled with a persuasive and confident demeanor.
  • Strategic thinking ability to identify long-term growth opportunities and build trusted partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex partner challenges and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Must be independently driven; very strategic and can think creatively in partnership models for SBS. Ideally someone who has experience developing partnerships, acquiring businesses and able to grow partnerships to help drive the business forward.

A college degree is preferred but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences could include:

  • Experience noted above, OR
  • Military experience -- skills including teamwork, resilience, negotiation, trust-building, and a "never lose" mentality will help you build team and client relationships, identify solutions, and achieve success

  • Master’s degree
  • Ability to facilitate elaboration sessions with subject matter experts
  • Effective listening and communication skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing, launching, managing, and scaling strategic partner programs and managing a book of business
  • Program Management a plus
  • Experience with digital products required, experience with app based and subscription solutions preferred
  • Able to collaborate with and influence partners across and outside of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management. A high level of emotional intelligence, collaborative style, and solid judgment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Demonstrates professional maturity and intellectual curiosity.
  • A solid command of business communication tools and strategies.
