Description:

Serves as an Aviation Safety Assistant in a Flight Standards field office providing administrative and semi-technical related support to the supervisor, or manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors, and Administrative Officer. Utilizes tools relevant to the Safety Assurance System environment which includes obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and admin file.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position at the FG-7 grade, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FG/GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include: Knowledge of agency directives and various agency policies governing technical programs; performing a variety of technical administrative work, such as, preparing complex reports; assisting in interpreting and implementing newly modified agency directives and determining action needed; managing records; providing tracking and validation support of funds for employee travel; assist in writing complex technical and non-technical correspondence and reports; researching technical data; reviewing and analyzing complex information; and interpreting directives.
