This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will serve as the senior strategic analyst and is responsible for analysis and expertise that supports concept development, strategy development, joint strategic planning, risk evaluation and assessment, and doctrine development.Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
- Developing, supporting, and employing methodologies that provide comprehensive analysis of strategic and military risk;
- Preparing key personnel for participation in meetings with senior leaders from the Office of the Secretary Defense (OSD), combatant commands, Services, and other government agencies;
- Applying communications, both oral and written, to develop policies and programs, coordinate their acceptance and implementation, and to negotiate solutions to disputed recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
