THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a GS-1910-11 QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), PD# D1818000 in FAC 44W000 and is part of the MO 139th Airlift Wing.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a HARD TO FILL Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining position. SEE NOTE UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.

Requirements:
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

Enlisted - AFSC 2AXXX, 2WXXX, 3D1X2 or 3D1X3
Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training involving planning, developing, or administering quality assurance programs (i.e., supporting the development, acquisition, production, use, maintenance, storage, and supply of products concerned with the systematic prevention of defects and non-conformances, the identification of unsatisfactory trends and conditions, and the correction of factors which may contribute to defective items); and using computer and automation systems.
GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months specialized experience which demonstrates thorough knowledge of quality assurance methods, principles and practices to verify that essential quality requirements have been met, identify problem areas, and recommend corrective action. Experience must demonstrate thorough knowledge of assigned aircraft, component systems, and support equipment to detect deficiencies in production rework areas; experience in aircraft inspection methods, techniques and practices to detect conditions which may compromise quality; ability to use precision measuring equipment, gauges and instrumentation for testing and special inspections; experience in applying statistical analysis, sampling methods, and techniques to determine compliance with the established standards; and ability to interpret and apply contract and engineering specifications, regulations, policy statements and other guideline material to the maintenance functions.
Must currently hold or have held AFSC 2AX7X or 2WX7X.
