This Career Seasonal Biologist position is engaged in the study, inventory, monitoring, restoration, and management of a broad range of natural resources primarily wildlife management. See Duties Section for more information.

Requirements:

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience.

SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs capturing, handling and performing chemical immobilization on large mammals. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. This experience must be supported by and documented in your resume.

Basic Requirements for General Natural Resources Management and Biological Science Series, 0401:
A. A degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
B. Or a combination of education and experience, courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Developed and implemented aspects of research and monitored projects in wildlife biology or management; prepared action plans pertaining to the wildlife management and protection of natural resources; recorded, collected, and analyzed scientific data pertaining to wildlife population and ecological dynamics; utilized specialized software and statistical tests for biological patterns and assisted in writing scientific reports; delivered formal and informal public information, presentations related to wildlife conservation.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree (coursework directly related to position being filled). You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above (beyond what is required for a master's degree, i.e., more than 36 semester hours leading to a Ph.D.).
