This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of Production Engineering. As a General Engineer, you will be responsible for solving technical problems affecting banknote production and packaging processes, specifying, acquiring, and implementing new production and packaging equipment, and developing ancillary production equipment and product inspection systems.Requirements:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service .

Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Identifying problems, developing solutions, or implementing process improvements within a manufacturing environment; AND
- Validating performance of implemented solutions in a manufacturing environment. (Examples of this experience may include: planning and conducting tests on manufacturing equipment OR measuring performance parameters on equipment OR analyzing data from a manufacturing process.); AND
-Leading teams to solve problems.
Specialized experience for the GS-12 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:

Specialized experience for the GS-11 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-9 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Identifying problems, developing solutions, or implementing process improvements within a manufacturing environment;
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M., if related, in an accredited college or university.
OR
Combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
