Our company is seeking a Dispatch Manager that has proven leadership skills in the trucking industry that can provide operational direction and support to drivers. They will ensure safe and timely deliveries to customers located in central Florida - routes fluctuate daily . They are responsible for enhancing the overall customer service and support by managing drivers to ensure the client’s needs and expectations are met.
Responsibilities:
- Creates an environment for the fleet team that drives positive employee relations, teamwork, and company pride.
- Ensures all fleet employees are effectively trained and conducts retraining & cross-training to enhance employee development.
- Ensures a safe working environment and equipment for drivers, including, but not limited to, ensuring drivers are complying with applicable federal, state, and local safety laws and requirements.
- Evaluate employee performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes to instill a continuous improvement culture.
- Manages drivers’ activities and ensures drivers are meeting and following company expectations and policies and performing to a level that meets client expectations and needs.
- Establishing efficient daily changing customer routes, transportation, and driver schedules.
- Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles and ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed.
- Managing all vehicle licensure and registrations while ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Must have experience working in the trucking industry with specific experience in regional route delivery.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.
- Possess familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation, and training.
- Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices.
- Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
- Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
