RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for projects at US and international company locations involving the construction of new buildings and facilities as well as the modification of existing properties. Meet with sub-contractors, suppliers, and vendors in regard to coordination of projects. Maintain close observation of the properties/facilities to assure proper upkeep.
- Define project scopes, create Requests for Proposal (RFP’s), obtain permits, and select architects and contractors. Develop schedules for contractors and all Crown support departments (IS, Security, Facility Maintenance, etc.). Review and approve construction prints, bids, quotes, and invoices for projects. Work with contractors and sub-contractors to resolve problems as they arise during the construction process.
- Assess condition of existing owned properties. Assign or subcontract any corrective actions needing completed to properly maintain the property.
- Ability and desire to solve problems and improve processes in Facilities Operations. Experience with analytical problem solving and Lean processes a plus.
- Organize and assign work for Crown maintenance personnel, as well as contractors. Provide guidance and support in solving maintenance issues. Meet with vendors and suppliers. Work closely with upper management on projects.
- Assign construction prints, order material and schedule sub-contractors. Prioritize and assign work orders and projects.
- This position requires occasional travel including some overnight stays. (6 – 20%)
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering (HVAC design) and a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of industrial, office and residential buildings. Experience working with Architectural and Engineering firms in the definition, design, and construction phases of building projects. Additional experience in understanding blueprints, state permits and working with state inspectors. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
