About the Position: This position is located within the US Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Security Office where you will function as the Security Officer representing the Commander in matters concerning Security and directing, planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and managing programs designed primarily to protect personnel, classified and sensitive unclassified defense information, material, operations, and/or facilities from compromise.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as monitoring personnel and information security systems and programs; Developing detailed policies, guidance, programs and standard operating procedures in accordance with applicable regulations for personnel security and information security; Performing periodic reviews and security inspections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
