Those who do not provide evidence they possess the following selective factor(s) will be rated not qualified:1) Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.
2) This position will require you obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
OPM Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used in determining your qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that you possess the skill level that has equipped you with the particular job elements to successfully perform the duties of Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work requires walking stooping, bending, lying flat and repeated lifting. The incumbent must have good vision, reaction reflexes and depth perception. Physical demands require coordination for hand, eye and body. The incumbent must exert physical effort related to actions such as lifting and carrying heavy loads (10-100 pounds), pushing, pulling, carrying objects of various weights, sizes and shapes, walking, climbing, crawling and bending.
Work Environment: Work is performed in all kinds of environments from an office setting to project sites in rough and steep terrain. Field work involves vehicular and foot access and may involve accessing remote areas. Temperatures many range from below zero to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Weather may include periods of rain, snow and heavy winds. Wearing of the authorized BLM uniform is optional during field work.
