Serves as an engineering technician with responsibility for performing a variety of assignments concerned with the assigned metrology and calibration functional area. Performs calibration of precision measurement references and working standards that support the Army calibration program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education AND/OR Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing a variety of assignments of metrology and calibration; experience performing calibration of precision measurement references and working standards that support the Army calibration program.

OR
successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field directly related to the work of the position such as: Engineering. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and work experience the total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
