Description:
Primary Function
· Perform field inspections during various stages of construction.
· Read and examine plans and specifications when required.
· Report violations and maintain files/records.
· Perform other related duties as required.
SKILLS:
· Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
· Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions.
· Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other team members, the public, contractors, governmental entities, and others.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
· Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.
SPECIAL LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- IRC Certified
- NV Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Inspector Certification preferred or ability to attain.
- ICC Certifications are a bonus
Physical Requirements
T his job requires lifting up to 50 pounds. The worker must ask for assistance in lifting more than 50 pounds and may request assistance in lifting at any time.
· Be able to work in extreme climate conditions.
· Lifting: Frequently/up to 50 pounds
· Carrying: Same as lifting
· Pushing\pulling: Limited on specific job sight to examine structure
· Stooping: Frequently
· Crouching: Frequently
· Kneeling: Frequently
Preferred
· 3-5 Years of experience in municipal code inspections
· High School or Equivalent
· Good Driving Record with Valid Driver's License
*Company paid training. Candidates not currently certified will be required to obtain certification within 6 months from hire.
