The Opportunity
We are looking for a leader with strong intellectual curiosity that has a highly collaborative approach who will be responsible for implementing the organization's learning and development strategy through design of innovative learning solutions. You will work as a strategic thought partner to develop and implement specific programs and initiatives aligned with the organization’s talent strategy and guiding principles. This role works out of our Abbott Park headquarters location within the Corporate Human Resources division and will support global projects as well as providing regional support to Canada and Latin America.
What You’ll Work On
- Liaise with leaders to develop and implement training, development, and succession plans that are appropriate for their business needs and consistent with the overall training strategy.
- Manage multiple global projects ensuring project goals are delivered on time and to high quality and work with business partners to understand skill development and curate learning for business needs.
- Develop an overall training plan to meet the current and planned HR requirements of the organization and direct all training and development activities to ensure they are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization's policies and standards.
- Analyze and identify the training and development needs of employees.
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and curriculum so skills and performance of employees meet the organization’s requirements.
- Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers.
- Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so the organization’s training activities remain relevant.
- Responsible for global learning solution sustainability.
- Support budget decisions for portions of Abbott’s global learning curriculum.
- Create/design solutions to unmet needs and provide timely responses to critical emerging demands across the business.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Virtual and Digital Learning design and Delivery together with excellent project management skills
- Bilingual language skills in Spanish
- Experience working in large highly matrix work environments with cross functional teams.
- Experience working and influencing key senior leadership stakeholders.
- Travel: 10% - 15%

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
