Position Description

ADP is looking for a visionary Senior Vice President (SVP) of Product Development to lead our technological strategies and operations for Major Account Services (MAS), Human Resources outsourcing (HRO) & Canada business and is responsible for delivering broad sets of complex HCM solutions and technology across various market segments. This role reports to ADP’s Global Chief Product Development Officer and will matrix to the BU Presidents for MAS and HRO as well as Canada.

The senior leader will help set the strategic direction by leading the product development function and integration of large, complex, and technically sophisticated applications that our clients use as part of our product offerings. This role involves leading multidisciplinary technical teams focused on product development, collaborating with other business (BU) and shared Product Development leaders, Product Management and UX matrix teams, and partnering with Business Unit (BU) leaders to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and drive sales.

Business Context :

MAS serves 62,000 clients in the US, both in the mid and upmarket segments. MAS provides all-in-one HCM solutions in a single database, ADP Workforce Now. The platform brings together a variety of HCM components, including talent management, human resource management, benefits administration, time and attendance, and payroll.

Human Resources outsourcing (HRO) business solutions help small, midsize, or enterprise organizations streamline processes, reduce the daily workload, and reduce compliance risk. The solutions run on ADP Workforce Now®️technology.

ADP Canada serves over 45,000 clients in two languages (English and French) across all market segments, offering our clients end-to-end HCM support across a variety of products, including ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Now on the Go, and TeamPay by ADP. In addition to software solutions, ADP Canada also offers HR business process outsourcing services.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Executive Leadership: As an executive team member, contribute to the ADP's strategic direction, ensuring product development alignment with overall business goals. Oversee all aspects of product development from concept to market launch, ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as product management, user experience, and business leaders, to define long-term product roadmaps, feature sets, and development milestones.
  • Customer Alignment: Work closely with customer success, sales, and marketing teams to ensure customer-centric and market-fit products.
  • Engineering Excellence : Lead and mentor a world-class engineering team focused on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance products. Oversee the technology architecture strategy for the MAS, HRO, and Canada product lines, ensuring long-term scalability and sustainability.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor production operations, leading the team in promptly resolving any operational issues to mitigate the impact on clients.
  • Quality & Compliance: Set quality standards and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements. Oversee robust quality assurance processes to assure product reliability.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify operational or product risks and collaborate cross-functionally to address them before they impact clients.
  • Talent & Culture: Lead, inspire, and engage large global cross-functional teams. Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, attracting top talent, developing the next generation of leaders, and empowering teams to reach their full potential.
  • Executive Influence: Comfortable in the boardroom with a compelling voice demonstrated through executive presence, ability to lead change, and creation of clear executive-level communications on key milestone achievements or technology recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience building high-performing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and collaborating across various technology and business functions to ensure a well-rounded product strategy, overseeing end-to-end production operations, providing high availability and performance, and driving business outcomes through scalable technology solutions.
  • Understanding of the market and the competitors in the space. Deep knowledge and experience in HCM solutions or similar fields like Human Resources software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or related business applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills to tailor appropriately to fit the audience (executives to front-line associates) and represent ADP at technology forums.
  • Excellent at managing competing priorities and rallying an organization to change direction when necessary.
  • Understanding budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure product development activities align with financial objectives.
