Description:

This position is a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist, GS- 0401-13, working in Sacramento, CA, for the Sacramento Fish and Wildlife Office.

Requirements:

Only experience and education obtained by 04/09/2024 will be considered.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualification.

Basic Requirement:
Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that includes courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, PLUS appropriate experience or additional education. This combination of education and experience is comparable to successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field, as outlined in A.
Minimum Qualification [GS-13]
One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing work in or directly related to the position to be filled. Experience may includes: (1) Conducting formal and informal consultations pursuant to Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act; (2) conducting work related to the development and/or implementation of habitat conservation plans pursuant to Section 10 of the Endangered Species Act; (3) reviewing permittee responsible mitigation (PRM) or conservation bank proposals; (4) developing, reviewing, and/or implementing recovery documents pursuant to Section 4 of the Endangered Species Act; (5) developing and/or reviewing listing documents pursuant to Section 4 of the Endangered Species Act.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
