Description:

This position is being filled under the Pathways Internship Program that is designed to attract students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions with paid opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school. Student Trainees will receive opportunities for learning in a professional work environment that focuses on FTC career-related fields such as human resources management, investigating, accounting, law enforcement, law, and economics.

Requirements:

To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. Certificate programs are defined as post-secondary education, in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study that is part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum.

Must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If graduation from an undergraduate program is expected by Spring 2024, must be accepted for enrollment to a fall graduate program and able to provide verification of this acceptance. Must possess requirements of the Pathways program for Internships.

To qualify for this position at the GS-02 level, you must possess the following:- Completion of high school or General Education Diploma and be enrolled or accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning. (high school graduates, who are enrolled for Fall 2025 in a degree seeking program)

To qualify for this position at the GS-03 level, you must possess the following:- Completion of one (1) full academic year of post-high school study.
(students who have completed two full semesters by Summer 2024)

To qualify for this position at the GS-04 level, you must possess the following:- Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. (students who have completed four semesters by Summer 2024)

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 level, you must possess the following:- Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. (students who have completed their undergraduate requirements, who are enrolled for Fall 2025 in a degree seeking program)

Pathways Internship Program Requirements:- Must be enrolled or accepted as a degree-seeking student.- Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in an accredited school.- Must be taking at least half-time academic course load.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
