To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level, which must include the following experience providing health communication advice in support of public health researchers and practitioners in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various health communications and marketing activities
Or
have completed a Master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters; or LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university
Or
have a combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
To qualify at the GS 11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level, which must include the following experience drafting written materials (i,e,, communication and marketing plans, reports, scopes of work, training tools, etc.) for health communication and marketing activities; and developing or presenting science-based materials (i.e., printed, electronic, audiovisual, etc.).
Or
Have Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in a field directly related to the position
Or
have a combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Promotion potential: Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and is based on your meeting qualifications and time-in-grade requirements, demonstrated ability to perform the higher-level duties, the continuing need for the higher-level duties, and administrative approval.
