About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security - Airfield Division , Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Requirements:

Permanent change of station (PCS) costs may be authorized.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience which includes: Knowledge of and skill in operating within the National Airspace System. Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in work such as: Civilian or military aircraft operations work, such as flight instructor, instrument rated pilot, flight engineer, or air transport pilot; FAA certified dispatcher for an air carrier; Flight information expediter involved in determining flight times of airplanes and transmitting information to flight operations and command centers; Civilian or military air traffic controller; Flight data processor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/NPA that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
