The Realty Specialist position is located within the Office of the Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs (ASIA) , Deputy Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs Management (DASM), Office of Facilities, Property, and Safety Management (OFPSM), Branch of Real Leasing Program (RPL) and lease administration for all of Indian Affairs (IA), including the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), and encompasses twelve regions located throughout the U.S. and Alaska.Requirements:
GS-11 : To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing 3 of the following: 1) Applying processes and procedures relating to Federal real property leasing, acquisition planning, and GSA Occupancy Agreements; 2) Assisting in preparing revocable licenses and facility use agreements to include responding to questions and/inquiries; 3) Communicating with customers regarding data submissions and space requirements; 4) Assisting with verification that the lessor complies with scope of the lease including daily maintenance and management of Federal leased, space, and advising the program of any issues or difficulties that may disrupt or hinder performance or that may justify withholding rent; and 5) Assisting with regular lease contract reviews and file management to verify that the Federal lease file maintains a current copy of the contract, and all related documents including inspection and performance documentation, Lease Amendments, and all general correspondence.OR
Education: 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or a L.L.M. in a related field of study OR a combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100% of the experience requirement.

GS-12 : To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing 3 of the following: 1) Applying process and procedures relating to Federal real property leasing, acquisition planning, and GSA Occupancy Agreements to include assisting junior Realty Specialists in their duties; 2) Preparing revocable licenses and facility use agreements to include respond to questions and inquiries; 3) Communicating with customers regarding data submissions and space requirements; 4) Verifying that the lessor complies scope of the lease including daily maintenance and management of Federal leased space, advising the program of any issues or difficulties that may disrupt or hinder performance or that may justify withholding rent; and 5) Conducting regular lease contract reviews and file management to verify that the Federal lease file maintains a current copy of the contract, and all related documents including inspection and performance documentation, Lease Amendments, and all general correspondence.
