Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (2) years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.Requirements:

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited AssignmentsIn order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which includes responding to employee/management requests for guidance, policy and procedures; compile data into reports to be presented in briefings or trainings; utilize automated systems/software to collect data and distribute information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
